What is all on four? All on four is a procedure that places one entire arch of teeth on four implants. The result is a great looking non-removable set of teeth. In most cases the restoration is placed at the time of surgery giving you great fixed teeth the same day.
Am I a candidate? The ideal candidates for the All on Four procedure are those who are about to lose their teeth or those who are currently wearing a denture and want to upgrade to fixed teeth.
What if I’ve been told that I’m not a candidate for a fixed bridge or implant due to bone loss? Am I a candidate for an implant with the All on Four procedures? Many of the patients who have been told they are not candidates for traditional implant options are candidate for this procedure. The All on Four procedures uses bone often not utilized in traditional implant therapy, making it available to a wider range of patients.
How is the All on Four procedures different? The All four implant technique takes advantage of the better quality bone in the anterior portion on the mouth. Each implant is longer, engages more bone and avoids the vital sinus and nerves areas. This makes a less invasive procedure that often eliminates the need for bone grafting or sinus lifts.
Is there going to be pain? Due to the advantages of IV sedation, patients relax throughout the entire surgery with no discomfort. Since the procedure is much less invasive and the patient is placed on anti-inflammatory medication prior to the surgery, there is little to no discomfort or swelling.
How about healing time? Minimal healing time is required to secure the bridge on the implants due to the fact the implants are anchored into the bone so securely. The usual 4-6 month bone integration is not required in most cases because we gain solid primary stability at the initial placement of these implants.
